What affects a bulbs lifetime?
The typical lifetime of a high quality H4 bulb (OEM) is at around 700 hrs and 550 hours for H7.
For 12V halogen bulbs, the lifetime is measured at a specified test voltage of 13.2V. No matter if it’s a standard or a high performance bulb, the lifetime of all filament bulbs is strongly dependent on the operating voltage in the car, even at just 5% over-voltage (13.86V), the lifespan of a lightbulb will be cut in half. So the biggest enemy in terms of a bulbs lifespan is overvoltage or voltage spikes.
It is very important to remember that the voltage to the light bulb can vary significantly between automotive brands, models & even individual cars
