Description

The new REDARC Manager30 S3 is a 30A state-of-the-art battery management system designed to charge and maintain auxiliary batteries by incorporating AC, DC and solar inputs, ideal for recreational vehicles, caravans, and camper trailers with multiple battery banks.

The next generation Manager30 S3 model is the complete battery management system for charging auxiliary batteries used in recreational automotive and marine applications. The dual battery system incorporates AC, DC and solar inputs to achieve the best charge for an auxiliary battery.

Developed with ease of installation in mind, The Manager30 is compatible with all vehicles and alternator systems including variable voltage alternators.

Whether you are charging Lead Acid, Gel, Calcium, AGM or Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries, The Manager30 represents a complete DC to DC charging and maintenance solution. If you are charging one auxiliary battery or more, The Manager30 will ensure they are always fully charged, providing peace of mind when battery charge provides the power source for the comforts of home whilst travelling around Australia.

The Manager30 operates like 6 separate products, it charges an auxiliary battery from the vehicle while on the move, it’s a 240 volt charger, a solar regulator, a battery isolator, a load disconnect controller, all with a remote battery monitor, making it market leading.

The Display

The main difference of this product (BMS1230S3R) and our other Manager30 product (VMS1230S3) is that this is complete with RedVision Display. The Manager30 BMS1230S3R features both the RedVision display screen and mobile phone connectivity for complete battery management for charging auxiliary batteries used in recreational automotive and marine applications. The dual battery system incorporates AC, DC and solar inputs to achieve the best charge for an auxiliary battery. The Manager30 comes with a display designed to give you house battery information and charge status along with critical system information while charging is in progress. With the display, you can customise how your house battery is charged and monitor where the charge is coming from, keeping you in control at all times.

The display can be surface mounted on a wall or recessed (into the dashboard of an RV for example). The display also allows a Bluetooth connection to your Smartphone, via the RedVision App, which provides the same data and control available on the display all in the palm of your hand.

Charging Lithium Batteries

Lithium batteries have improved storage capacity relative to size and weight. They do however require specific charging conditions in order to operate correctly and the battery itself must have an in-built cell management system. REDARC have designed a charging profile within The Manager30 to complement these in-built systems.

Green Power Priority

The Manager30 is designed to charge an auxiliary battery from multiple sources simultaneously. If 12 volt solar power is available, solar power will be used before topping up the output charging current from another source mains (if available) or DC vehicle power when on the move.

MPPT Solar Regulator

The built-in Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator allows The Manager30 to deliver the maximum amount of power from portable solar panels, even during low light conditions.

Remote Monitor

Designed to show you auxiliary battery information and charge status. You can customise how your battery is charged and monitor where the charge is coming from. A user-friendly, graphical display monitor lets you know what is going on, keeping you in control at all times.

  • Multi Stage AC-DC Battery Charger

FAQ

What is a battery management system?

It is an electronic device which manages and protects a rechargeable battery. Functions include: Protecting the battery from overcharge; Maintaining a battery at optimum charge; Monitoring the battery for faults or conditions that could damage the battery from for example to high temperature; Protecting the battery from undercharge and protecting the voltage source (for example starter battery) from being drained, by isolating the incoming power supply once it gets below a certain voltage. Here you can read more about battery management systems.

Why is The Manager 30 so expensive?

The Manager30 combines charging and maintaining with all features you get with

  1. A DCDC charger (charging of 12V),
  2. A battery monitor incl. shunt (monitoring the actual state of your battery and not just displaying the voltage charge)
  3. A solar regulator
  4. A dual battery isolator
  5. A load disconnect controller and
  6. A smart battery charger of 240V with a high amperage of 30.

Another important difference to a single shunt which connects to just one appliance is that The Manager connects to all different outputs and inputs. It can separate and monitor more thoroughly incl. Lithium batteries and it does monitor in live time.

You can read deeper into battery management systems and related topics on the sciencedirect page.

What is the difference between the The Manager30 and The Manager30 R version?

The BMS1230S3 comes with a basic less informative screen. The BMS1230S3R includes a more complex and informative screen.
